For the first time this year, the air actually smelled like spring today. Don't ask me how exactly I know that smell, but it is distinctive and learned, just like the distinctive smell of impending snow or rain. You *just know*.  There aren't any flowering plants, so its not a floral smell. Its a fresh air with a "hello it's me Spring!" odor to it.

I've just about max'd out with snow for this year. The six inches of snow from the storm last week are rapidly melting, and it is looking like NH mud season has officially started.

All my plants are begging to be put out of doors. I have a fern that looks positively scraggly, yet amazing still alive. My wee bonsai is relatively new so it looks better than most of my indoor plants this time of year. Or perhaps it is my Foo Dog's influence that has kept it so healthy looking. Regardless, I will be happy when the weather is warmer so my sad little plants can all go outside and enjoy rain on their leaves and fresh air through their branches.

What kind of spring weather can we expect here?
